Mohammad Asif had accurately predicted Virat Kohli’s downfall [Video]

Mohammad Asif about Virat Kohli

India’s former captain Virat Kohli has been one of the best players the game of cricket has seen during the last decade. He established himself as a modern day great with his consistent performances across the three formats.

However, the right handed batter has been going through the worst form of his career since 2019. The last time he reached the triple figure in any format was back in 2019.

Many have been wondering about the reasons for Virat Kohli’s lack of runs. Well, Pakistan’s former fast bowler Mohammad Asif knew what will happen when the right handed batter will stop scoring runs.

A video of the former fast bowler has been going viral on the internet where he talked about Virat Kohli’s batting technique.

“Kohli is a bottom-hand player. He is doing well because of his fitness and it is supporting him. The moment he will face a decline, I don’t think Kohli can make a comeback. In fact, Babar is an upper-hand player like Sachin. His bat movement is fluent like Sachin. People say Kohli is better than Tendulkar. I say no. Virat does not even come close to Sachin. This is my opinion,” Asif said on YouTube channel last year.

Kohli’s poor form was the reason why he lost the Indian team’s captaincy but there hasn’t been any improvement in his performance. Even during the ongoing Indian Premier League, he has managed to score only score 119 runs in 7 innings with an average of 19.83.

“The way Sachin played was all upper hand and a very few people know about this technique. Be it coaches or anyone player. Sachin was so fluent with his cover drives, on drives pulls and cuts. No doubt Kohli has strokes as well, but his is all bottom hand,” Asif had said.
