More Than 700 Zaireen coming from Iran will be kept in isolation over Coronavirus fear
The patients will be kept in isolation at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH) in case of an emergency.
As a precautionary measure, the authorities have decided to keep more than 700 zaireen returning from Iran in isolation outside Dera Ghazi Khan. These pilgrims would be screened for coronavirus.
The pilgrims would be quarantined while taking precautionary measures against the coronavirus. According to sources, the patients will be kept in isolation at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH) in case of an emergency.
The federal government would shift more than 700 pilgrims from Tuftan border to Dera Ghazi Khan. These will then be kept under observation for 15 days near the airport. The screening will be held under the supervision of the teaching hospitals’ doctors and completed at the agricultural campus of Ghazi University near the airport.
Until now, preliminary tests have been carried out at the camp and no virus was found in the pilgrims. The campus building is currently under the district administration’s authority. Cleaning of the campus has begun, along with other arrangements.
Ghazi University Deputy Registrar Spokesman Professor Muhammad Shoaib Raza said that the agricultural campus has been taken under custody for use. The district administration will improve the quality of the facilities being provided. However, the commissioner’s office denied that any such notification after being contacted.
