Saba Qamar shares her thoughts on Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman scandal as he previously criticized her for twirling inside a mosque
Here's what he said.
Recently, a video clip allegedly showing Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman sexually assaulting one of his students started doing rounds on social media on Thursday. The disturbing video stirred up a storm on social media as netizens called for action to be taken against the Jamaat-e-Islami leader.
Following the video, the victim of sexual abuse registered a case against the cleric at the North Cantt police station on the 17th of June 2021. The complaint has been registered under Section 377 (unnatural offenses) and Section 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The incident narrated by the Victim
According to the FIR, the victim said:
I started going to Jamia Manzoorul Islamia in 2013. During the exams, Mufti Rehman accused me and another student of cheating by seating someone else for our exams. Over this, I was banned from giving exams at the Wafaqul Madaris for three years.
The victim further shared:
I pleaded to Mufti Rehman, but he remained unmoved on his decision. Later, Mufti Rehman said that he might be able to think of something if I engaged in sexual activities and “make him happy”. I had no choice but to be subjected to sexual assault. Mufti Rehman claimed that the ban would be removed and that he would also pass me in the exams. But despite a passage of three years, during which I was assaulted every Friday, he did nothing and started to blackmail me more.
Talking about his ignored complaints, the victim said:
I complained to the madrassah’s administration but they refused to believe me as Mufti Rehman was considered an “elder and pious man”. They, instead, accused me of giving a false statement. So to prove myself, I recorded the abuse and showed it to Wafaqul Madaris al Arabia Nazim. After this Mufti Rehman started threatening me with dire consequences as well as my life. Because of the audio and video recordings, the administration of the Jamia Manzoorul Islamia removed Mufti Rehman which angered him. I am now being threatened by Mufti Rehman and his sons and I plead the authorities to take action against them.
Netizens call out the Religious Leader
The incident of Aziz ur Rehman forcing another man is outrageous, sinful, and shameful. Should be stripped of his title of Mufti and punished when the investigation holds him guilty. A respectable title like that requires a person of both knowledge and practice of Islam.

Mufti Aziz ur Rehman is 70 years of age. We will never know how many little children has he raped, yet the first instinct is to keep this news under the rug and talk about other things.
If you stay silent over this sick incident, you are one of them.

Tomorrow is Friday. Whichever Mosque you go to pray, pay attention to the Khutbah to see if Imam sahab has any words to say regarding the absolutely deplorable act of sexual exploitation by Aziz-ur-Rehman (Mufti). You'll see how these religious institutions are complicit.

Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman’s Side of the Story
Soon after the viral abuse video, Mufti Rehman recorded a video message in which he claimed his innocence and said that the boy in the video had drugged him due to which he was not in his senses. He said:
If I was “in my senses” how could the boy have made the video using a mobile phone without me knowing? This is a conspiracy to have me removed from the madrassah.
Action taken by the Authorities
The Jamia Manzoorul Islamia removed Mufti Rehman from the madrassah on the 3rd of June. The directives, issued by Muhtasim Asadullah Farooq, said that some people from the neighborhood had visited the madrassah and showed the video of the alleged sexual assault to the administration and Mufti Rehman’s son and asked the latter to leave.
The dismissal letter issued by the seminary to Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman read:
Based on the neighborhood’s complaint, and after consulting with the administration, you have been relieved of your duties.
The Punjab Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Chairperson Sara Ahmed also took note of the video and contacted the victim and his parents. Sara Ahmed termed the abuse as “extremely saddening” and assured that the victim and his family would be provided justice and complete legal cooperation.
Oh how the Tables have Turned
Mufti Aziz Ur Rehman. The same guy who was the loudest against saba qamar shooting a video in a mosque. Ironic isnt it?

The fact that there's no outrage against mufti Aziz ur rehman despite having such a clear video of his crime…..? the same mufti who protested against Saba qamar for twirling in the mosque was caught raping on camera. Where's the outrage? #muftiazizurrehman

Saba Qamar shot a song in the premises of a mosque in Lahore, which was interpreted as desecration of the mosque by Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman.
Today, the same Mufti Aziz's own video was leaked in which he was molesting a teenage boy in a madrassa attached to the mosque.

Last year, the Jamaat-e-Islami party highly criticized actress Saba Qamar for twirling inside the Wazir Khan mosque. The twirl caused a huge scene and a case was even registered against the actress under Section 295 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), pertaining to “offenses relating to religion”.
While the actress took to Twitter to clarify her stance, the Islamist political party leaders weren’t ready to hear a thing. Now, one of their own (Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman) is under fire for committing a crime so vile and disturbing.
Actress Saba Qamar has been silent over the matter and has not called out her haters for looking at themselves in the mirror first. However, one of her tweets speak louder than most words can suffice:
