The two Chinese players that were included in Zalmi squad last year are all set to make their debut in their first official match in the third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) this Thursday in Sharjah. As per China Representative of Peshawar Zalmi, Amir Suhail, Jian Li and Yufie Zhang were signed to promote cricket in China.
As said by him:
‘’We will provide them with a platform to recognize their talent and motivate them to achieve international recognition’’ (Source: Pro Pakistani)
Zalmi will welcome both players at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and will be part of the squad for the upcoming fixture.
Peshawar Zalmi is all set and prepared to dwell Quetta Gladiators in a much-awaited and anticipated derby this Thursday. Zalmi stands on the fourth position in the tournament currently by winning one out of four matches while Gladiators have played only two games so far, bagging victory in one of them and losing the other. Suhail further added that China Zalmi has won the Global Zalmi League this month as well. The league was organized by ‘Global Zalmi’, a fan based league with representative Zalmi clubs from 16 different countries.
The teams were divided into four groups, and China Zalmi, apart from winning the league, remained unbeaten throughout. Owner of Peshawar Zalmi, Javed Afridi presented the $10,000 cash to the winning team. He also gave two players opportunity to be a part of practice sessions and train with the senior players. Afridi expressed that he is hopeful that China Zalmi will help promote cricket in China.
It is positive to see that the league, apart from being such a brilliant event for Pakistan, has the potential to impact and promote cricket in the region as well.
With all that set, all eyes set on the upcoming match!
