National Development Internship Program: How to apply

The Pakistani government is set to hire 20,000 interns under the National Development Internship Program (NDIP).

The Prime Minister of Pakistan approved the NDIP prepared by the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives to help engage the youth in development projects. Under this program, 20,000 interns will be hired in new/ongoing projects during the current fiscal year. The stipend will be paid from the funds reserved under the head of contingency or projects.

Project eligibility criteria

Before applying, you need to know about the eligibility criteria of the project. Any individual who is applying should have the following qualifications:

  • The age limit is up to 30 years
  • 16 years HEC-recognized degree or a 3-year diploma of associate engineer, paramedic courses, or any other three-year diploma after intermediate in a technical field from a recognized institute.

When it comes to the project selection criteria, here are the projects that will be eligible for internship awards:

  • Project costing Rs50 million: No interns
  • Project costing Rs50 to Rs250 million: 5 interns
  • Project costing Rs250 to Rs500 million: 10 interns
  • Project costing Rs500 to Rs2,000 million: 15 interns
  • Project costing Rs2,000 to Rs5,000 million: 20 interns
  • Project costing Rs5,000 to Rs10,000 million: 25 interns
  • Project costing Rs10 billion and above: 50 interns
