Pakistan cricket team suffered major blow ahead of the first test match against Australia as Haris Rauf tested positive for Covid-19. The fast bowler has been isolated and will remain in quarantine for five days.

Haris Rauf will be allowed to join the squad after a negative test at the end of his isolation period. The Lahore Qalandars‘ fast bowler has been ruled out of the first test and replaced by Naseem Shah, who was originally a travelling reserve.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)‘s press release, all the squad members and support personnel were retested, which turned out to be negative. Pakistan will face Australia in the first test match on March 4 at the Rawalpindi cricket stadium.

Lahore Qalandars under fire:

After winning their first ever PSL trophy, the Lahore Qalandars players and staff went to the room of Aqib Javed, who was in isolation due to Covid-19. The players had a close interaction with their head coach, who lifted the trophy and kissed it before giving it back to the players.

After Haris Rauf tested positive for Covid-19, netizens bashed the Qalandars management for their irresponsible behaviour. They are of the view that despite knowing that the players have an important series coming up, they shouldn’t have interacted with Covid positive Aqib Javed.
