Following the current fiasco over Pulwama attacks, the Kashmiris regardless have to face the worst of the consequences. Being singled out and attacked, facing violent protests, students stranded in educational institutions and also a 13 years old girl being missing ever since the demonstrations, the Kashmiris are in the most desperate need of relief right now.
However, the hostile environment has made them suffer the most – and it continues to do so. A few hotel owners in Agra have put up banners asking the Kashmiris to ‘stay away’. The hotel owners say that despite the deadly terrorist attacks, claiming lives of 40+ Indian soldiers, the local Kashmiri population is allegedly sympathetic towards the militants.
The manager of Kishan tourist lodge, Rajjab Ali, speaking to TOI (Times Of India) said that local Kashmiris are more inclined towards the attackers rather than paying homage to the slain soldiers.
“Our 46 jawans and officers have been killed in various terrorist activities post February 14 in Kashmir, but still local residents support militants instead of paying homage to the slain soldiers. It needs to stop or we will not allow them in our hotels” – Rajjab said.
He added that the ban will be exercised until the murdered soldiers are not served justice. He added that Pakistanis, who kill soldiers as cease-fire violations, need to be revenged.
”The ban will continue until our martyrs are not served justice. We need double heads of Pakistani soldiers who often kill our men in ceasefire violations” – he said.
Rohit, manager of another hotel named Hotel Riz, said that the ban is being exercised to show support to their forces. He said they respect their defence forces, unlike Kashmiris who see them as enemies.
