Notables including Moonis Elahi, Mahira, Sherry Rehman express their thoughts on Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was seen verbally abusing Marvi Sirmed in a live TV Show.
If we say that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has become the face of fragile male ego and misogyny in Pakistan, there would be no exaggeration in the statement. While suffering from major temper issues, Qamar has often expressed his extremely triggering thoughts which invalidate a whole entire gender.
Khalil was invited as a guest on a panel on Neo News to discuss the upcoming Aurat March. Aurat March is a public rally which is organized in different cities of Pakistan every year on the 8th of March to celebrate International Women’s Day.
However, the discussion on ‘Mera Jism Meri Marzi’ got bitter and Qamar lost his temper. He went on abusing his fellow panel-mate Marvi Sirmed, uttering some extremely below-the-belt words.
– Aur ye jahil admi hmari industry ka director hai? Jis shakhs ko baat krnay ki tameez nhi. Why is our industry not boycotting him already? #khalilurrehmanqamar #bycottkhalilurrehmanqamar pic.twitter.com/kvZ92Srhny

Notables including Moonis Elahi, Sherry Rehman and Mahira Khan have expressed their outrage over Qamar’s unethical behaviour. Mahira questioned why a man who abused a woman on a live TV show is given projects after projects.
I am shocked at what I have just heard and seen!! Sick to the core. This same man who abused a woman on tv is revered and given project after project because of what? We are as much to blame if not more for perpetuating this thinking! #khalilurrehmanqamar

Politician Moonis Elahi said that he feels sorry for Khalil-ur-Rehman’s mother and he is ‘appalled to see’ him behaving like this.

PPP leader and senator Sherry Rehman announced to boycott Neo News, saying that she will not accept any shows unless the channel apologizes.
I will not accept any show on @NeoTv_Network until this anchor apologises and this abusive man boycotted. If others ( men and women ) do the same when asked for shows this kind of disrespect to women may not get impunity. Women’s rights are human rights. Enough of this nonsense https://t.co/YAJlmawCXF

Shahbaz Taseer, the son of slain governor Punjab Salman Taseer, said he apologizes on behalf of Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.
On behalf of every man except Amir Liaqat I apologize for #khalilurrehmanqamar And not apologize for his actions but his entire being and pathetic existence

Ex-member of Sindh Assembly Irum Azeem Farooque also expressed her thoughts on the absurd outrage surrounding the slogan.
MerayMaard ke marzi
Yeh theek hai ??#AuratMarch2020

Shehzad Roy also extended his support, saying he does not understand the outrage, like many of us.
Don't understand the problem so many are having with #MeraJismMeriMarzi"-Mera jism meri marzi nahi toh kis ki marzi ho gi?? "My body is mine" is a critical component of the Life Skills Based Education classes we teach to help children protect themselves from abuse & harassment

Known activist Nida Kirmani tired to explain and break down the ‘Mera Jism Meri Marzi’ slogan to the people who lack basic common sense.
#MeraJismMeriMarzi means opposing:
lack of healthcare
Opposing this statement means perpetuating a culture that produces all of the above.#khalilurrehmanqamar
