Officer who exposed billions of rupees theft at PSM dismissed from job
An officer of the Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), who had exposed billions of rupees of theft, has been dismissed by the management.
A local media outlet reported that A-XEN CMD Security, Engineer Abdul Rehman informed Chief Executive Officer (CEO), PSM, about the 10 billion rupees worth of assets of the steel mills being stolen. He had prepared a list of those involved in the theft and wanted the authorities to proceed against them as per the law.
Instead of initiating an inquiry against those accused of the billions of rupees of robbery, Mr. Rehman was dismissed from his job after the senior officials of PSM opened an old probe against him.
Talking to Express News, Abdul Rehman said that he would take the legal path against his dismissal. He added that he is being punished for exposing the crimes of the top management.
Moreover, he also claimed that as many as 35 theft-related FIRs had been registered. However, not even a single person has been arrested.
It should be noted that the main plant of PSM is heavily guarded and it’s impossible to steal anything without the help of people on the inside.
