OPF generates profit after four consecutive years of going in loss.

  • Overseas Pakistanis Foundation has turned 50 this year.
  • For the first time ever since its creation, the foundation generates profit.
  • Total revenue generated by OPF was 2,815 Million.
  • Total expenses were 2,704 Million.

Overseas Pakistanis Foundation has turned 50 in 2019. The institution serves thousands of Pakistanis each year, but if the data of the last few years is analyzed this is the first year that the institution has made a profit after 4 consecutive years of being in the loss.

This has been achieved after strict measures were implemented by Special Assistant for Overseas Pakistanis & HRD Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari upon the directions of PM Imran Khan to uplift OPF. The measures included the revival of various sick projects under the foundation, controlling corruption, removal of unnecessary expenses while adopting austerity.

OPF generates profit for the first time in four years:

For the financial year 2018-2019 which was the first year of OPF under the current ministry, total revenue generated by OPF was 2,815 Million while the total expenses were 2,704 Million thus having a surplus of 111 Million rupees. This can clearly be seen as a result of reforms implemented by top management to restructure and uplift existing institutions as per directions from PM Khan.

OPF earlier this year was also awarded ISO 9001 certification for being an organization of international standards under the leadership of PM Imran Khan & SAPM Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari.

The incumbent government has stood determined since day one to facilitate overseas Pakistanis and make conditions favorable for them. In this particular regard, efforts were being made to provide all overseas chambers chairs to be included in the board of Overseas Pakistani Foundation and engage them in the development process.
