[VIDEO] PAF inducts locally-manufactured JF-17 Thunder Block-III into its fleet. What will be their role?
The air chief thanked China for assisting Pakistan in accomplishing this milestone.
The Pakistan Aeronautical Complex has formally delivered 14 state-of-the-art indigenously developed fourth-generation JF-17 Thunder Block-III to Pakistan Air Force at a simple ceremony.
According to reports, the JF-17 Thunder Block 3 of the PAF will be operational with a new radar and better than the Raphael aircraft acquired by India.
Simultaneously, the 14 dual-seat aircraft, manufactured with Pak-China cooperation were also handed over to the PAF. These will also be used for training.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Chinese Ambassador, Nong Rong, said that China congratulates Pakistan for the 17th Block-III Dual Seat joining its air defense fleet.
Nong Rong added, “Pakistan Air Force Block III is a significant project. Cooperation in defense production is an example of our friendship.”
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, also informed about the dual-seat JF-17 aircraft’s inclusion in the air force’s fleet.

Despite its meager defense budget, the Kamra Complex has produced more than 100 home-made JF-17 Block One and Block Two aircraft to the Pakistan Air Force since November 2009.
In the recent Pak-India tensions, this aircraft played a vital role in the national defense by shooting down two superior Indian technology aircraft along the Line of Control.

Just to be clear… the dual seat aircrafts are not block-III… they are JF-17B also known as “Bravo”… the JF-17 block-III are single seat aircrafts and are 4++ varients….
It is a misleading headline. PAF has inducted JF-17B block 2 and not JF-17 block 3. Yesterday, they inaugurated the production process of JF-17 block 3 and expect the first block 3 jet to be ready within a year. The newly inducted JF-17B are two-seater block two aircraft. It is the first time that JF-17 has manufactured a two-seater.
