Egyptian Company to invest $2 billion in Pakistan’s tourism sector

In order to increase the tourist influx, the government of Pakistan is considering to develop its tourists’ sites on Egyptian pattern. Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari, Chairman of NTCB (National Tourism Coordination Board), has recently stated,

“The plan after its materialization would have a significant impact to attract foreign tourists and also add its share in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.”

He further added,

“We are in consultations with an Egyptian company for materializing this initiative as soon as possible and in the first phase potential cities of Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be our target.”
As mentioned by Zulfikar Bukhari, Khushab and Nathia Gali are currently among the top priorities to be transmuted into tourist destinations.
“A-hundred-year plan was a visionary approach to promote tourism, and it is in our consideration now,” Bukhari said while answering a question.

Egypt interested to invest in various Pakistani sectors:

According to him, a meeting was held between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Naguib Sawiris, Orascom Telecom Media and Technology (Egyptian Co) Chairman, where they expressed their interest to invest in various zones, including tourism, mining, micro-banking, and high and low price housing units. The Egyptian Company is expected to invest approximately $2 billion in diverse zones of the country.

 

The special assistant to PM Imran Khan on Human Resource Development and Overseas Pakistanis, Zulfikar Bukhari, told us that the top priority of the government at the moment is the promotion of tourism and while talking about its potential, Bukhari vowed to utilize it.

 

Zulfikar Bukhari further mentioned that a lot of new initiatives would be taken by the federal government in collaboration with respective provinces. PTDC (Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation) has introduced reforms for making this organization more effectual and result-oriented.
