  • Pakistan’s first space mission has been planned for 2022 and the Federal Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the plan.
  • China’s plans to involve international communities in its space missions showing its determination to further enhance global cooperation in space projects.
  • An agreement between Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and a Chinese company has already been signed in this regard.

Pakistan is planning to send first astronaut to space in 2022, with the help of China. For this an agreement between Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and a Chinese company has already been signed.

China is planning to involve international communities in its space missions to jointly conduct research and encourage global cooperation. According to the director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, China’s project will yield significant outcomes.

China’s projects include opening up its planned space station to other countries, especially developing countries. Country’s first space station is expected to be open and operating by 2022. It will be world’s first ever first space station which will be open for cooperation with all UN member states in manned space flights and exploration.

Pakistan intends to send the first astronaut to China’s space station by 2022:

Amer Nadeem, chairman of Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission in Pakistan, said after the opening ceremony of China Space Day in Changsha, that the selection will be made on the signed agreement.

“Hopefully, the agreement on the matter will be signed very soon. We will select the candidates based on the agreement. Also, they will come to China for some parts of the training”

He added that he is hopeful for China and Pakistan to launch more joint missions and conduct extensive researches on the subject. Nadeem said both countries with work on space projects focusing on satellite networks in future.

India plans to launch its own manned human space mission in 2022 as well:

Interestingly, Pakistan’s plan to send the first astronaut to space is for the same year when India plans to launch its own manned human space mission. However, the only difference is that India’s mission will be their own while Pakistan will do so with China’s help.
