Pakistan and Iran agree to boost bilateral relations and trade

Pakistan and Iran have agreed to forge closer trade relations and boost cooperation with new agreements’ conclusion.
The Minister of Commerce, Textile, Production, & Investment, Abdul Razak Dawood, held a phone conversation with the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines & Trade, Alireza Razmhosseini.

During their discussion, the Iranian minister expressed satisfaction to see the opening of the Rimdan-Gabd border.
The minister hoped that the border point would be furbished to enhance mutual trade transactions further.
The Ridman-Gabd border point is the second official border crossing between Iran and Pakistan.

Razmhosseini also invited the Pakistani official to participate in the ninth meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee to be held in Tehran.
The Iranian minister said talks on a free trade agreement would be finalized at the planned meeting.
The minister also expressed hope bilateral ties will further expand with the conclusion of joint agreements and memoranda of understanding.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Commerce said he was pleased to see the Rimdan-Gabd border crossing opened, expressing Pakistan’s readiness to boost mutual trade ties.
He also announced that Pakistan would be keen to participate in the Iran-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee’s ninth meeting.
He said Islamabad seeks long-term trade with Tehran, adding mutual exchange will increase in the future.
Dawood also stressed the importance of mutual investment in both countries.
