Pakistan offers military training to Qatar Armed Forces
Qatar is also planning to increase employment opportunities for Pakistani nationals in the coming years.

The Federal Minister for Defense Production, Zobaida Jalal, has offered military training to the Qatar Armed Forces.
The minister added that Pakistan’s military institutions were open to soldiers belonging to the Arab Gulf state.

HE Ms Zobaida Jalal, Federal Minister for Defence Production, met with HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Sheikh / Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Talking to the Qatari envoy to Pakistan, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Faisal Al-Thani, Jalal applauded diplomatic relations between the two countries, calling Qatar a “trustworthy friend” of Pakistan.
Jalal reiterated that the two states need to work closely to further extend bilateral cooperation beyond the economic domain to defense, military exercises, and personnel and joint ventures.
Meanwhile, the Qatari ambassador reassured his government’s commitment to fully cooperate with Pakistan and its people and expand bilateral ties between the two countries.
Earlier this week, the Qatar Consul General in Karachi, Mishal M Al-Ansari, also told the local business community that Qatar is planning to increase employment opportunities for Pakistani nationals in the coming years.

Last month, the two countries signed a 10-year Liquefied Natural Gas supply contract at the “lowest-ever publicly disclosed price under a long-term contract in the world.”

Meanwhile, earlier in January, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, had also met with the top Qatari leadership, including the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.

During the army chief’s visit, matters of mutual interest, defense, and security cooperation were discussed.
