Pakistan celebrates Pushpa Kohli, country’s first Hindu female ASI

The appointment came following the recent competitive exam result.

Pushpa Kohli, a Hindu Pakistani girl, has become the first-ever police officer from her community in the province of Sindh.

After passing the competitive provincial examination, in which there are hundreds of more candidates, Kohli got posted as the Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI).

The news of her milestone spread like wildfire through social media. It is now a hot topic. This news was first broken by Kapil Dev, human rights activist, and blogger from Pakistan. The news was shared on his Twitter account on Tuesday. Pushpa is the first woman from the Hindu community of Pakistan to join the law-enforcing agency as ASI.

“Pushpa Kolhi has become the first girl from #Hindu community who has qualified provincial competitive examination through the Sindh Public Service Commission and become Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in Sindh Police. More power to her!’’ – Kapil Dev wrote in his tweet.

However, this doesn’t end here. Earlier in January of the ongoing year, Suman Pawan Bodani, another Pakistani Hindu girl, was appointed as a judge to the judicial and civil magistrate.

Suman belongs to an underprivileged and underdeveloped rural area in Sindh, she has grown up seeing the poor struggling with numerous challenges and coping up with the challenges.
Suman said that her family stood with her and supported her, and it was through their endless support and affection that she achieved her dream.
