Pakistan Railways has recovered 383 acres of land across the entire country in several anti-encroachment operations that took place during the last one year under the PTI-led government.

The value of the retrieved land stands at Rs. 30 billion. 38 km of the 43 km long KCR (Karachi Circular Railway) has been recovered from encroachers, as revealed by a document of the Ministry of Railways after completion of one year.

24 new passenger trains had also been added by Pakistan Railways, all renovated locally at Railways Installations in Lahore and Islamabad. These trains provided transportation to 8 million new passengers and also added additional revenue.

With LIVE tracking, Pakistan Railways has also added 24 new passenger trains to its fleet:

Among the number of initiatives that Railways took to improve its performance, it has also added 24 new passenger trains to its fleet. All of these newly-added trains are refurbished at Pakistan Railways’ installations locally at Lahore and Islamabad. As the new trains are added, they attracted 8 million new passengers, adding Rs. 5 billion to the revenue.

Moreover, the number of passengers traveling by rail has also increased by 70 million. By introducing special container goods trains, Railways also increased freight volume from 4% to 7%. Over 1 million customers are using the Free Live Tracking facility through their smartphones. Free ticket facility has also been extended to 4 trips per year for passengers aged 75 years or more.
