Pakistan Steel Mills Left at the Mercy of Thieves
Thieves have continued to steal assets worth millions of the Pakistan Steel Mills without any fear of the law.
According to a report, copper wire and parts worth millions of rupees was stolen on Saturday night. The gang of thieves was spotted around the main plant of the mill, which was caught while trying to escape.
It is the second time this month that robbers have been caught on the premises of the Pakistan Steel Mills. On September 5, multiple men were caught as they tried to steal valuable assets.
However, despite being caught, no FIRs have been registered in both the cases by the administration. It raises a serious question over the role of the administration in such cases.
Earlier in July, the reports of 10 billion worth of copper wire being stolen from the steel mill had shocked everyone. Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was tasked to investigate the matter but none of the officers, allegedly involved in the theft, were removed from their jobs.
Shockingly, the engineer who had exposed the theft was dismissed from his post. According to a report, Pakistan Steel Mills losses and non-production has caused the economy billions of dollars of loss from 2005 to 2022.
