‘Pakistan will support Saudi Arabia in the middle-east conflict’, says PTI Minister Pir Noorul Haq
He shared his thoughts on the escalating tensions in the Middle-East.
Religious Affairs Minister Pir Noorul Haq Qadri says that Pakistan will side with Saudi Arabia in the fast-escalating tension in the middle east because the ‘kingdom has aways unconditionally supported Pakistan’.
He expressed his views while addressing a ceremony distributing aid among the deserving people of Azad Kashmir. The event was organized by the International Islamic Relief Organisation.
Pir said that Saudi Arabia is a ‘friend’ and has always given importance to Pakistan. However, he refrained from commenting on rising US-Iran tensions and the killing of Irani General.
“We are proud of our friendship with Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia helped us on every occasion,” he said while addressing the ceremony. Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Al-Maliki was also a part of it.
The minister added that OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) always helped Pakistan in the time of need. He made special mention of Saudi Arabia’s relief operation for the cold-affected people in northern regions.
Minister Pir Noorul Haq said this a day after Foreign Office (FO) gave his statement on the current political scenario. According to the statement, the government showed “deep concern with the recent developments in the Middle East, which seriously threaten peace and stability in the region”.
The statement also defended the right of sovereignty of any country. Without mentioning the assassination of Maj-Gen Qassem Soleimani in a US drone strike in Baghdad, the statement read that the “respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity are the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, which should be adhered to.”
