Pakistan to host two tri-nation series

If things go according to the plan, Pakistan will be hosting two tri-nation series as part of the next Future Tour Programme (FTP), starting from 2024-2028.

According to media reports, the idea for the tri-nation series was pitched by Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ramiz Raja. He had been proposing for such series to happen more happen for several months now.

In the forthcoming FTP, Pakistan will host a couple of tri-nation series in four years. The sources privy to the matter told a local news outlet that two different sets of teams will visit Pakistan for the events.

For instance, if the first tri-nation series features South Africa and England then the next series will have two other teams. The two series will most likely be held in 2024 and 2026-27.

PCB is expected to get a nod from the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the series. “Such a series is expected to draw a better return, on both crowd and sponsorship fronts,” a source was quoted by a local newspaper.
