Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates agree to boost bilateral ties
The foreign minister highlighted the importance of frequent high-level visits from both sides, which provided an impetus to deepening and diversifying the bilateral relations.
The Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, received the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al Zaabi, on Wednesday.

According to a Foreign Office statement, Qureshi stressed that Pakistan and the UAE’s relationship benefitted from the warm sentiments between the two states’ leadership.
Likewise, he stressed the strong people-to-people contacts rooted in shared faith, values, and culture also increased bilateral ties.
“Pakistan always accorded paramount importance to its fraternal ties with the UAE,” he said.
The foreign minister highlighted the importance of frequent high-level visits from both sides, which provided an impetus to deepening and diversifying the bilateral relations.
He added that he looked forward to enhancing high-level engagements with the UAE as soon as the global health situation improved.
Qureshi also appreciated the UAE’s support for Pakistan’s pavilion at the Expo-2020, which would be held later this year.
At the largest exhibition ever staged in the Middle East and the North Africa (MENA) region, the pavilion would showcase Pakistan’s culture, investment opportunities, and tourism potential.
Meanwhile, the Emirati Ambassador pledged to strengthen bilateral ties further and diversify them in all sectors.
He said the Emirati government was keen to develop ties with Pakistan based on mutual respect, understanding, and shared interests.
The Ambassador also acknowledged the positive contribution of the Pakistani diaspora towards the development of the UAE.
