Pakistan Wants To Take The Lead in Introducing Battery-Powered Electric Buses in Asia

Pakistan is planning to take the lead in introducing battery-powered electric buses among the Asian countries. This was revealed by Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry in a tweet.

Taking to Twitter, the federal minister for Science and Technology apprised his followers regarding the massive increase of up to 600% in the budget of science and technology. He added that he will try his best to increase the science and technology’s budget by 1,000 percent in the next budget.

In another tweet, Fawad Chaudhry admitted the government’s failure to manufacture engines. But the federal minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to locally manufacture solar panels and lithium batteries in the next three years.

Furthermore, Mr. Chaudhry announced that the Jhelum Biotech Park will be South Asia’s biggest herbal medicine park.

Earlier, the federal government had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with private ride-hailing service to introduce electric vehicles in the country. The electric buses will be helpful in combating air pollution in the country.
