Setting a new, vivid and inspirational example of honesty, Pakistani cleaner Tahir Ali Maqbool returns a bag full of solid gold after finding it in the parking lot. The gold was worth 7 million Dirhams.
27 years old Tahir Ali Maqbool hails from Chakri Village in Sialkot. He has been working for a company in UAE since 2013 and is also the sole breadwinner for his family. His honesty was honored by Road and Transport Authority (RTA) but he brushed off all the praise saying there is no bigger wealth than honesty.
“Honesty is the biggest wealth”
Tahir Ali Maqbool brushed off all the praise and honor he was receiving, saying that honesty is the biggest wealth and it cannot be bought. He added when he came to Dubai to earn, his father asked him never to earn anything by dishonest means and he is only living by his advice.
“You cannot buy honesty even with one crore rupees. Wealth is not permanent; it is with you today and tomorrow it belongs to someone else”.
Ali was performing his night duty when he found the bag at the parking facility in Al Sabkha area earlier this month. After spotting the bag, he returned it to the authorities without even opening or thinking twice.
“When I told my father, he said I did the right thing and congratulated me. That meant a lot to me.”
He said that he came to the UAE to earn for his family and he has big dreams, but he wishes to achieve it by his hard work, not by unfair means. Ali said that his father appreciated his act, which means the most to him.
