Pakistani Consulate launches WhatsApp service to help expatriates with the burial of their loved ones
The Kingdom has asked people to adhere to social distancing measures by staying at home during the curfew.
Pakistani Consulate General in Jeddah has launched a WhatsApp service to help the Pakistani community in the kingdom amid COVID-19 restrictions.
The government of Saudi Arabia has banned public movement to and from different cities, imposing limited curfew in certain areas to control the spread of the virus.
In a statement, the consulate said that a WhatsApp service has been launched to facilitate the expatriate community in getting a NOC (no objection certificate) for the local burial of their loved ones in the western region of the kingdom.
The consulate has appointed officials to help them in this regard. Previously, Pakistan’s Consul General in Jeddah Khalid Majid urged Pakistanis to ‘strictly comply’ with the precautionary measures put in place by Saudi authorities to stop the virus.
The Kingdom has asked people to adhere to social distancing measures by staying at home during the curfew. The holy cities of Madinah and Makkah were placed under a 24-hour curfew.
