From academics to sports, Pakistanis have made their name and proven to the world time and time again about how much they are capable. Despite the shrinking space and societal constraints, Pakistani women sports players are making their mark and making sure the world sees it.

Just like that, Hajra Khan, a footballer from Pakistan, has made a Guinness World Record. However this is not her first, collectively she has about three Guinness world records to her name.

“It’s an honor to represent Pakistan amongst 50+ countries at this event,” says the football team’s captain.

Although the male football team of Pakistan has been unsuccessful in gathering attention, Hajra has been applauded as a rising athlete internationally, as she has played for Equal Playing Field to break new records every day for the talented female athletes.

EPF or Equal Playing Field is a non-profit organization. Its aim is to promote sports development for girls and women all around the globe and to challenge gender inequality in sports.

“It is an honor to represent Pakistan amongst 50+ countries at this event. But the message I aim to send out with these world records and achievements is far deeper – it is to get the next generation of girls to come out and play without any hesitance and resistance where they will not have to worry about their rights or inequality” – said the star while talking to a local news channel.

Hajra Khan: Already a record-holder:

In 2018, Hajra set a world record for playing a football match at the lowest altitude in the history of football at the Dead Sea in Jordan. However, she did not stop there as she went on to set two more world records in Lyon, France.
