Pakistani illustrators and individuals affiliated with visual arts are making a major breakthrough. Though the field is considerably under-appreciated and under talked about in Pakistan, it is still refreshing to see that those passionate in the field are finally making ripples across the internet, showing the world that even with limited resources, we are no less.
Last year particularly has made major changes in the National Art scene, and for all the good reasons. It was in last year that daughter of legendary Atta Ullah Khan Esakhelvi, Laraib Atta, made her way to Hollywood with her command over visual arts and also Pakistan’s masterpiece ‘Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor’ won two internal awards – one of them being a viewer’s preference.
The future is bright as another Pakistani illustrator has taken social media by storm after he posted his creative weddings cards designed for Indian drama actors. Ameer Ali, which his distinctive and unique wedding card is winning hearts not only on this side of the border but on the other side as well.
Indian television stars Rohit Purohit and Sheena Bajaj are all set to tie the knot and are in the spotlight – Ali’s card has garnered a lot of attention and praise as well. Beating the contemporary style, the card shows beautiful caricatures of the bride and groom.
He posted the design on Facebook, captioning it as:
”Here I present you the first post of the year. I was so overwhelmed by the response I got on my wedding card and after that, I have been asked to do a lot of wedding cards. Here is the first one to follow more ?
I did this card for an Indian TV actress @imsheenabajaj (instagram)
