A GAME-CHANGER: Lahore-based startup invents Pakistan’s first-ever bloodless dialysis machine
According to the sources, around 20 million people suffered from kidney diseases in Pakistan back in 2017.
In an amazing new development, a Lahore-based American startup has invented Pakistan’s first-ever bloodless dialysis machine. The machine will allow patients to receive affordable dialysis treatment in the comfort of their homes.
The company has named the machine ‘Robo-Kidney’. They will go into mass production after receiving the green light from the healthcare regulators. The company also contacted the country’s top Nephrologists and healthcare professionals before making the machine.
Decreased risk of Hepatitis-C
The machine will allow patients to be treated at home, and will also decrease the risk of contracting hepatitis-C during the normal dialysis procedure.
According to Byonyks, around 72% of kidney patients in Pakistan get infected with Hepatitis-C amidst their dialysis treatment.
“Robo-Kidney is an affordable and bloodless machine that will allow kidney patients to receive dialysis treatment at their homes”, the founder of Byonyks said Farrukh Usman said.
Robo-Kidney will help ease the load on the national healthcare resources, and will also contribute to Pakistan’s economy through export to international markets.
