Pakistan’s JY-27A Radar Can Detect Stealth Jets, Shows Satellite Imagery

According to Jane’s 360, a futuristic radar system is now possessed by Pakistan.

As analyzed by defense analysts, a CVLO (Counter Very Low Observable) radar has been identified at Pakistan Air Force’s Mianwali Air Base. In imagery this year on August 29th, it was revealed that the radar was manufactured by CETC (China Electronics Technology Corporation).

The VHF radar is said to be jamming-proof and mobile-friendly. It is also said that it can detect sneaky aircraft like an F-117 and B-2 from a long distance (about 500 km precisely).

As mentioned in the details, this state-of-the-art radar is now fully operational; nonetheless, it arrived somewhere between June and August this year.

Although it is still unclear if it is a batch of a bigger unit or a single-unit acquirement. Taking JY-27A’s long-range detection capabilities into account, Pakistan would get more long-range missiles.

You may also like to know that the updates of the acquisition of JY-27A are still not public. In any case, the rumored reports tell us about the country’s longing to import more advanced missiles, particularly SAMs that are Chinese air-surface missiles.

We further learned that PAF (Pakistan Air Force) has been planning to increase its arsenal after the aerial strike happened between India and Pakistan in the days of the Pulwama attack.
