Pakistan’s top cueist Mohammad Asif has won the title of IBSF World Snooker Championship for the second time.

Mohammad Asif defeated his Philippines opponent, Jeffery Roda, by 5-8 in the final to clinch the title. The event was held in Antalya, Turkey.

Earlier, Mohammad Asif defeated his Thai opponent, ritsanut Lertsattayathorn, in the semifinal on Friday to make his way through to the final. Kritsanut Lertsattayathorn won the championship back in 2016. The 2016 championship winner failed to win a single frame against Pakistan’s top cueist.

Following his win, Mohammad Asif dedicated his victory to the Pakistani nation and Kashmiris.

“This wasn’t an easy tournament for me, but I was focused to win for my country,” he said.

Mohammad Asif remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. Pakistan’s sports enthusiasts took to social media to laud Mohammad Asif on his achievement.
