“The reality of Kashmir was neither changed by an illegal piece of paper in 1947 nor will any other do it now or in the future. Pakistan has always stood by Kashmiris against India’s hegemonic ambitions, will always do. There can never be a compromise on Kashmir,” tweeted DG ISPR, adding that Pakistan Army is fully alive to the sanctity of Jammu and Kashmir and will remain fully ready to play its part in line with its national duty for the cause of occupied Kashmir.

Pakistan is celebrating its 73rd independence day in solidarity with Kashmiri people. The people of Kashmir are facing atrocities and onslaught at the hands of the administration and these cruelties entered a new phase since August 5 the day when India revoked the autonomous status of occupied Kashmir and snatched the constitutional rights of Kashmiris by a unilateral decision.

Prime Minister Imran Khan in today’s speech has warned Indian premier that any action of him will be countered with a strong response. “This is my message to you; you take any action and every brick will be countered with the stone,” he said referring to the Narendra Modi the re-elected Indian premier.

PPP Chairman in his independence day message has said: “This we reiterate our resolve to implement Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s dream for a peaceful, prosperous & progressive Pakistan. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our Kashmiri brothers & sisters in their struggle to exercise their right to self-determination.”

“This independence day, let us remind ourselves of the visionary words of Quaid e Azam: Unity, Faith, and Discipline. We stand united with the people of Kashmir and their right to Self Determination,” tweeted the country’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi today.

The leader of the opposition and former chief minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in today’s message has called for the attention of the international community and world leaders at the current scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.

The lockdown in Kashmir entered the ninth day and people of the valley are facing social barricades due to lack of communications. BJP’s Government has carried the curfew-like restrictions within the valley.

Several political leaders have been arrested since the unilateral decision by the Indian Government and now the reports tell that IAS topper turned politician Shah Faisal has also been placed under house arrest and likely to remain so until the situation normalizes.
