Over 50% of Pakistan’s Population is At Risk of Deadly Diseases Due To Obesity
Cardiac diseases and stroke are the cause of nearly half of the deaths caused every year. It is stimulated due to poor health conditions and pitiable intake of diet.
According to a recent study under the Pakistan Health Research Council, more than 50% of Pakistan’s population is obese.
This half of the population is at risk of deadly diseases due to obesity. Not only adults, but children day by day are also becoming obese at an increased rate.
According to a report ‘Atlas of Childhood Obesity’ published by the World Obesity Foundation, the number of obese children living in the country could increase to 5 million by 2030. In a list of countries predicted to have more than one million school-age children and youth living with obesity, Pakistan came 9th. India, the United States, and China ranked top of the list.
Pakistan Among The Countries With Most Cardiac Patients Due To Poor Diet:
Studies have shown that the people in the age range of 35 to 40 are being affected by the poor diet routine and environmental changes. The statistics were shared by Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) Executive Director Major General Azhar Mehmood Kiyani while talking to a local media source.
