Pakistan’s ready-made garments exports increase by 12% in the first quarter of FY 2019
During the period under discussion, 172,547 metric tons of bed wear worth $817.665 million were exported, witnessing a growth of 5.72%.
During the first quarter of the ongoing financial year, the exports of ready-made garments increased by 12%, showing a significant increase as compared to the last year. During July-October 2019, about 19.54 million dozens of ready-made garments worth $906.663 million were exported. For the past year, the figures were 15.119 million dozens, amounting up to $809.520 million
The data was revealed by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan, which stated that Pakistan exported 40.246 million dozens of knitwear worth $1.054 billion. In comparison to it, the figures for the past year were 7.790 million dozens worth $962.862 million. A growth of 9.49 percent was witnessed.
During the period under discussion, 172,547 metric tons of bed wear worth $817.665 million were exported, witnessing a growth of 5.72%. Last year, the exports were 144,574 metric tons valued at $773.447.
An optimistic increase in textile exports:
In the first four months of the ongoing fiscal year, 58,030 metric tons of towels, with a worth of $251.647 million were exported, compared to 60,041 metric tons worth $249.651 million during the past year.
As per the data, the textile group exports during the first four months July-October of the ongoing financial year saw an increase of 4.10%, compared to exports of the corresponding period last year. Textile exports witnessed an increase of 7.44% in October 2019, compared to the same span in 2018. Textile products worth over $1.214 billion were exported in October 2019, compared to the exports of $1.130 billion in October 2018.
The exports of raw cotton during the period under discussion witnessed a 0.78% increase, cotton carded or combed was upped by100% while yarn other than cotton yarn grew by 21.24%.
