VIDEO: Pasha Haroon reveals what Quaid e Azam said about minorities when Pakistani flag was designed
Ms. Haroon revealed that the flag of Pakistan was finalized by Jinnah at her residence in Karachi when she was also in attendance.
The niece of Sir Sultan Agha Khan III and daughter-in-law of Sir Abdullah Haroon, Pasha Haroon, has disclosed what Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah said when she helped design the flag of Pakistan.
Ms. Haroon revealed that the flag of Pakistan was finalized by Jinnah at her residence in Karachi when she was also there.
During an interview with a local TV Chanel, Pasha said, “The flag was laid down at the table waiting for the Quaid’s approval. After looking at the flag, he said that the white part represents the minorities; it is too narrow, broaden it. I want more space for minorities. Whoever they are or whatever religion they belong to, when they come to Pakistan, they are Pakistanis.”
“Quaid wanted minorities to come to Pakistan in high numbers and enjoy equal rights here,” she said.
Jinnah frequently visited the residence where Pasha Haroon lived in Karachi as he had a close relationship with Pasha’s father-in-law.
