Pat Cummins shares his experience of hearing Azan

Just ahead of the tour of Pakistan, former Australian cricketer and Pakistani coach, Geoff Lawson advised Pat Cummins to wake up early and admire the call to prayer.

“Once or twice he should wake early and admire the call. Azan literally means “to listen”, “to hear”, “to be informed about” – all methods to understand and thence to improve,” Geoff Lawson had said.

It seems the Aussie skipper has listened to the former Pakistani coach as he shared his experience of hearing Azan in an article for a foreign media outlet.

“There was a cool moment during training on Tuesday when the call to prayer from Rawalpindi echoed across the ground with the mountains off in the distance,” Pat Cummins said.

According to the 28-year-old, him and his teammates are learning about Pakistan all the time.

“I also found out that day that the first sessions on every Friday of this series will be two-and-a-half hours, with an hour long lunch break for prayers, because it is the holy day of the week.”

The Australian skipper is excited to be in Pakistan. He stated that they want to absorb and appreciate every element of this once-in-a lifetime experience.

Just like him, the rest of the members of the visiting team are also having a great time on this historic tour. They are regularly sharing stuff about Pakistan on their social media handles.
