The cricket stadium in Islamabad will host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be constructing a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Islamabad following approval of the Prime Minister Imran Khan. The approval was granted during a meeting between the PM and Chairman PCB Ramiz Raja.
PM Imran Khan gave in-principle approval to the cricket board for the construction of the cricket stadium in Islamabad. Furthermore, the PCB was also directed to complete the construction as soon as possible by utilising all the available resources at their disposal.
The chairman PCB once again confirmed that the state of the art stadium will be constructed in the federal capital to host Champions Trophy 2025 matches. Last year, during a press conference, Ramiz Raja announced PCB’s plan to construct a high-tech cricket stadium Islamabad.

“We have submitted two applications where we have inquired for a piece of land within Islamabad. We want to create a high-tech cricket stadium from the ground up and hopefully, prepare it by 2025 for the Champions Trophy,” Raja had said.
It was during Ehsan Mani’s tenure when the cricket board decided to revamp the cricketing infrastructure in Pakistan. PCB also plans to create high-performance centers in Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Faisalabad.
Furthermore, as announced by Ramiz Raja, 70 additional rooms will be built in NHPC to accommodate teams visiting for the Asia Cup, Champions Trophy, and future cricket.
