PCB suspends coach for alleged intoxication, gang-rape and blackmail of female cricketer

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended a regional coach after an inquiry opened against him for alleged gang-rape of a female cricketer.
The athlete filed an FIR against the culprits at the Gaggu Mandi Police Station. According to the evidence collected by authorities, which includes a video message of the survivor, the coach suggested that the woman joined the college cricket team and also promised her a job.
She claimed that the coach invited her to his house on weekends, and that three years back, he and his friends, intoxicated and then raped her. In her written statement, the victim claims that the coach and other culprits filmed and also blackmailed her, while posting the video on social media.
The victim added that they stole Rs60,000, four tola gold and her mobile phone, and have also harassed women in the past. She was tortured, kidnapped and gang-raped. The coach then got a fake nikkah-nama made and introduced her as his ‘wife.’
After receiving the adverse complaint, director of cricket board PCB, Nadeem Khan, ordered a brief investigation into the matter. The coach is out on bail, but the main suspect in the case is currently in custody of the police.
