PCB to withhold 15% of players’ salaries if they are not ‘fit’. Here’s how much they are paid
Players are to be tested in five main areas.
Players will be fined 15% of their salaries if they do not meet the minimum fitness criteria.
If a player fails consecutive tests, he will be demoted from its present category.
Players will be tested in areas like strength, fat analysis, endurance, cross-fit, and speed endurance.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has declared that the pay of Pakistani players would be deducted if they were unable to meet the criteria set for the fitness test. The fitness test will be conducted on the 6th and 7th of January.
According to a press release by the cricket board, “Players will be fined 15% of their salaries in case of not meeting the minimum fitness criteria. The fine will remain effective until the player attains the required standard. If a player fails consecutive tests, he will be demoted from its present category.”
Players are to be tested in five main areas. All the areas will contain equal marks.

The Director of PCB, Zakir Khan said, “These fitness tests will not be limited to the centrally contracted players, but will trickle down to the six Cricket Association teams.”
