Pension payments to be made on pensioner ID cards to cater to fake claimants

The issuance of identity cards will help identify fake and ghost pensioners.

The government of PTI has started a process to identify all retired government employees for pension payments. All the ministries and divisions have been sent Pensioners’ Identity Card forms and proformas, prepared by the Accountant General Pakistan Revenue (AGPR), to identify their respective retired employees.

Moreover, the widows and beneficiaries of late government employees will be issued pensioners’ identity cards, after inquiry and confirmation of data by the corresponding ministries and divisions.

Proformas and pensioners’ ID card forms need to be correctly filled and submitted to the respective accounts office so that they can be issued pensioner identity cards. Pensioners’ identity card forms are published on the official websites of concerned ministries so that they can easily be downloaded from there. The issuance of identity cards will help identify fake and ghost pensioners.


Requirements for pensioner identity cards

Subsequently, the payment of pensions will be made only to holders of pensioner identity cards. They need to meet the following requirements:

  • An attested passport size photograph of retired employees or their heirs
  • employee’s name and division, department, ministry, personal number, father’s name
  • post on retirement
  • basic pay scale
  • date of birth as per service book
  • Computerized National Identity Card Number (CNIC)
  • date of appointment,
  • date of retirement, in the case of deceased employees, their date of death

Additional information in case of family pensions

  • family pensioner’s name
  • marital status
  • relationship to the deceased government employee
  • Computerized National Identity Card Number of the family pensioner
  • ID, blood group, postal address, permanent address, and email
  • Attested pensioner identity card form along with their name, signature, title, and CNIC and contact numbers.

Additionally, before the form checking in the accounts office, the name and signature of the individual making the entry must be filled.

  • Pensions should be paid once in toto at the time of retirement like it is done n banks and NGOs. It will eliminate all the recurring headache and mismanagement as well as save the exchequer huge monthly expenses on pension management staff.

Further, All Pensioners should inform their families that,if he or she died after retirement on or before the age of 70, family pension monthly from AGPR to be allowed till life and Benevolent Fund Grant monthly from FEBGIF, Ameera Centre near Passport Office Saddar to widow,unmarried/widow/Divorced daughter.
