No More TikTok: Peshawar’s Islamia College University Orders Students to Delete Their TikTok Accounts
Last month, a teenager from Arifwala, Punjab set himself on fire after continuously being stopped by his father from filming TikTok videos.
As many as five students belonging to Peshawar’s Islamia College University were ordered to delete their TikTok accounts by the university’s administration, following multiple complaints against them.
According to details, the university’s administration was approached by some students against the excessive use of TikTok by five students of the university. The university took action by ordering the students to delete their TikTok accounts at the earliest.
Furthermore, a student had also registered a complaint against the use of TikTok with the Prime Minister’s complaint cell. The complainant feared the violation of the privacy of the female students in the university.
TikTok has unarguably become one of the most popular short video sharing apps of recent times among the youth. The craze for getting more views, likes and followers has resulted in many unfortunate incidents.

In the more recent months, calls for banning the short video sharing app have mounted. According to a report of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), it received as many as 500 complaints asking for a ban to be slammed on TikTok.
