Petrol pumps in northern areas sold petrol at Rs.700 per liter during Eid holidays
As per police data, nearly 210,000 vehicles had entered Murree.
The recent strain of tourists flocking to Pakistan’s northern areas for sightseeing has put a lot of stress on the supply of petrol in the region and petrol prices have now inflated to rs. 700 per liter.
As per police data, nearly 210,000 vehicles had entered Murree whereas its available parking space cannot accommodate such a huge number of vehicles, which caused even more issues.
“We have never seen such a huge number of vehicles entering the valley,” said Asad Bahadur, District Police Officer (DPO) of Miranshah. He stated that around 0.7 million vehicles had surrounded and crowded the Kaghan Valley, causing major clogs.
A similar situation is occurring in Gilgit-Baltistan and its Chief Minister has issued commands and directives to the departments responsible for resolving these issues, and assist the tourists.
