PIA on the road to success, resume flights operation for Malaysia from Oct 14th

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) would start its direct flights from Pakistan to Kaula Lumpur (Malaysia) from October.

“The PIA is going to operate weekly two direct flights between Islamabad and Kuala Lumpur to facilitate the tourists intending to visit Malaysia and Pakistan. It will also restart flights on profitable routes,” a PIA official told the source.

Moreover, he says that PIA is making efforts to add new destinations in their schedule. Furthermore. PIA is planning to include new airplanes to the fleet.

2019 year of PIA

In the first six months of 2019, PIA generates revenue up to 41%, which is a record high.

Entity generates massive revenue due to the addition of many routes Sialkot-Sharjah, Islamabad-Doha, Lahore-Muscat, Sialkot-Paris, Sialkot-Barcelona, Multan-Sharjah, Peshawar-Sharjah and Peshawar-Al-Ain, said the report.

After the decade long hiatus, British Airways resumed its flights from Islamabad to London route only.

Furthermore, under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan 3200 job opportunities have been created in the aviation department.

New destinations

“The current government upgraded the Faisalabad airport,” added the report. “It also installed primary and secondary radars at Karachi and Lahore airports and Lakpass station.”

PIA is further looking to start cargo services, which usually form a substantial portion of the total revenue generated.

Rules, regulations and new establishment have recently been introduced in the aviation department to improve the condition of the entity, which has been neglected for many years.
