The national flag carrier has issued a tender notice showing its intent to auction poultry shelters, equipment, and scrap.

According to the PIA Spokesman, Abdullah Hafeez Khan, “I believe it might be looking strange because you might not know that poultry business was started in Pakistan by PIA.”

To prepare in-flight meals for customers with fresh chicken meat and eggs, PIA had decided to establish its own poultry farm in collaboration with the Shaver Poultry Breeding Farms Ltd. of Canada.

However, now the aviation entity has decided to sell its poultry business with a tender detailing of the items that are up for auction. These items are located at Damtor, Abbottabad.

To inspect the items PIA has been selling, it asked interested parties to submit a written application to the Manager SCM, PIA Supply Chain Management department, Islamabad.

Moreover, interested parties also need to submit two copies of their CNIC and a non-refundable pay order amounting to PKR 5,000 per person in the name of PIA as the auction entry fee.

Inspection of the auction items will be carried out from the 1st of January 2021, till the 21st of January 2021, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

However, an open public auction will be held at Damtor, Abbottabad, on the 27th of January 2021, at 11 a.m.
