[PICTURES & VIDEOS] World’s Largest Aircraft Lands At Karachi Airport
The world’s largest cargo aircraft, Antonov An-225 Mriya, landed at Karachi on Wednesday.
Flight ADB 3859 arrived at Jinnah International Airport (KHI) at 11:27 am local time.
The Soviet-built, Ukrainian wide-body aircraft is powered by 6 turbofan engines and is said to be the largest and heaviest plane ever manufactured.
With a supreme take-off weight of almost 700 tonnes, the aircraft has the longest wingspan of any aircraft in operational service.
According to airport sources, the aircraft carried military cargo that was being carried from Afghanistan as part of the withdrawal plan of the US and allied forces from the war-torn nation.

Social media is abuzz with the advent of the world’s biggest cargo aircraft in Karachi as netizens and aviation enthusiasts shared the plane’s photographs and videos.
The aircraft departed from Jinnah International Airport (KHI) on Thursday morning.
