Khan said inflation was an international phenomenon, adding that Pakistan still “ranked among one of the cheapest countries in the world.” According to the PM, the petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan were lower than in Dubai and other sub-continent countries.
The premier expressed satisfaction that the Ehsaas program provided financial assistance to deserving people during the Covid-19 pandemic, “acknowledged internationally.”
According to the premier, 98 percent of the financial assistance under the Ehsaas program was disbursed among needy women to empower them economically.
He also encouraged the public to pay taxes and promised that all such money would be spent on welfare and development. Khan also mentioned that recently the government announced a subsidy on petrol and diesel to provide relief to consumers because of an upsurge in tax revenue.
Imran said the government’s national health insurance program was a significant step towards facilitating the underprivileged people in getting free medical treatment up to PKR 1 million.
PM Khan added that a network of the Ehsaas Nashonuma projects would be spread to the district level to address the issue of stunted children.
”Three successful years of the Ehsaas Program.”
The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Social Welfare, Senator Sania Nishtar, stated the Ehsaas program had completed its three successful years in “line with the principles of transparency.”
Nishtar said the first phase of enrollment for the Ehsaas Riyayat Ration Scheme had been completed, and messages are being sent to 9.2 million deserving families in a phased manner to avail the targeted subsidy through four thousand utility stores.
She declared the registration of retail stores is also resuming so that the deserving families could avail of the targeted subsidy through them. She further mentioned that under the Ehsaas Kafalat scheme, the allocation of PKR 71 billion of cash assistance would also be formed.
