This remains a dilemma of Pakistani democracy from independence to this day, that no elected government is considered ‘fairly’ elected. They are always blamed for rigging from other parties.
However, this cannot be denied as well that due to lack of political awareness and education, it is easy to convince as they lack critical thinking, long-term benefits, and their social responsibility.
During a roadshow about Panama Case and performance of PMLN, a woman from PM Nawaz Sharif’s own constituency said that before elections, identity cards of voters are taken and votes are actually ‘bought’ by giving them money in exchange.
