PIA took planes on lease from Indian businessmen during Nawaz Government
According to details, the plane was taken into custody on court's order at Kuala Lumpur airport with passengers on board.
Last week, Malaysian authorities seized a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Boeing 777 over being a defaulter of the lease payment.
According to details, the plane was taken into custody on a court’s order at Kuala Lumpur airport with passengers on board.
In a turn of events, the company owner and director who leased the plane to PIA turn out to be Indian nationals with an office in Dubai.
Following this, the Federal Minister for Aviation, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, claimed that PIA acquired the plane on an expensive lease during the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) term in 2016.
Meanwhile, an old tweet of the Vice President of the PML-N, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has been widely shared on social media.
She tweeted, “New leased PIA planes. A day not far when PIA will be at par with the world’s finest airlines. That’s Nawaz Sharif.”
