Last week, the Model Criminal Court announced its reserved decision, ordering the police to include the Pakistan People Party’s MPAs Nawab Sardar Chandio and Nawab Burhan Chandio in the Umme-Rubab family’s triple-murder case.
According to details, The father of Umme Rabab, Mukhtiar Chandio, was shot alongside her grandfather, Karamullah Chandio, and paternal uncle, Kabil Chandio, on the 17th of January 2018, in Mehar taluka, Dadu, allegedly at the behest of the Chandia clan’s chief and the PPP lawmaker from Sindh, Nawab Sardar Chandio.
Following the incident, an FIR was registered against the alleged attackers, who had committed the triple-murder at the behest of the Chandia tribe’s chief. The arrested suspects, including Sattar Chandio, Sikandar Chandio, Zulfiqar Chandio, Murtaza Chandio, and Ali Gohar, were also brought to the court.
Speaking on occasion, Umme Rubab told the media persons that she was thankful to the court for including the PPP MPAs in the triple-murder case of her parents.
Meanwhile, Nawab Sardar Chandio said he would apply to the high court to exclude his and his brother’s name from the case. The Model Criminal Court adjourned the case till the 25th of September, 2021.
