President Alvi’s tweet on family planning received well by Pakistanis
People have been anticipating it will finally ignite a much-needed conversation regarding an issue often brushed aside in shame and embarrassment.
Recently, President Arif Alvi shared a video on his official Twitter account regarding family planning and reproduction. The video urged people to destigmatize these topics for a healthier Pakistan.
“The health of any nation is closely connected to maternal and child health. Make the right family arrangements for prosperity, keep a check on the number of children. Ensure good health. Do not ignore this topic but discuss it and spread the message.”

The President’s initiative about family planning has been well-received by social media users. People have been anticipating it will finally ignite a much-needed conversation regarding an issue often brushed aside in shame and embarrassment.
He’s Chair of the Task Force on Population and shares huge concerns on this subject. And rightly so, this is an issue where you should also participate and spread this important message. Trust me, no one would call you Family Planning wali baji.

This is the need of the hour where people need to be able to discuss societal issues that impact all of us.

Such an important message delivered so effectively. Govt must take the lead if we are to challenge the taboos against contraceptives, family planning, and sexual and reproductive health in general
More like this, please! https://t.co/n5QGa7kT4j

This is really important and a good initiative. Contraception is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, in fact family planning should be made widely available to people. These conversations are very important. https://t.co/U5vkRw4Sml
