Arif Alvi previously started a social media movement ‘#IFightCorona’ to encourage Pakistanis to share their contributions in the battle against coronavirus.

He also shared guidelines on his Twitter account, asking Pakistanis to share them far and wide. In these guidelines, ‘Refuse to shake hands and embrace’ was the among Alvi’s top three prescriptions.

However, Alvi had previously briefed in a tweet that all the precautions had been taken during his trip to China.

“We implemented #iFightCorona protocols for our hi-level meetings. Both delegations, Presidents, Ministers, all staff, + of flight & embassy, underwent 2 tests (throat swab + blood) to ensure health before we met. Result of last tests taken before departure for the home were clean too,” he tweeted.

On the other hand, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has announced that he is going into ‘self-quarantine’ for five days. He would be tested after it. The President and other senior high ranking officials will accompany him.
