After Coronavirus reaches Pakistan, price of surgical masks increases up to 1000%
Panic gripped Pakistanis after two cases of novel coronavirus were confirmed.
After two coronavirus cases were confirmed in Pakistan, the price of surgical masks has skyrocketed. To mint profit out of the health emergency, the profiteers have increased the prices up to 1000%.
While the market is facing a shortage due to excessive demand, a pack of surgical masks, which was previously under Rs50, is now priced at over Rs1000.
Panic gripped Pakistan after two cases of novel coronavirus were confirmed. The first case of COVID-19 was reported in Karachi while the second in Islamabad. According to the details available so far, the patients recently came back from Iran along with their families.
220/ I can confirm first two cases of corona virus in Pakistan. Both cases are being taken care of according to clinical standard protocols & both of them are stable. No need to panic, things are under control. I will hold press conf tomorrow on return from Taftan.

The patients have been kept in isolation in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital, Islamabad and at Aga Khan Hospital, Karachi. However, the families of the patients have been tested negative.
